About us

The Center for Innovation and Technology in North Rhine-Westphalia, in short ZENIT, based in Mülheim an der Ruhr was founded in 1984. ZENIT GmbH is a public-private partnership with the participation of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia, the ZENIT e.V. network with around 180 primarily medium-sized member companies and a bank consortium. It employs about 50 people.

On behalf of the EU, the federal government and the state, ZENIT primarily supports small and medium-sized technology-oriented companies and universities in their innovation and internationalization activities and brings together potential partners from business and science. The goal is to pave the way for good ideas for marketable products and services and to help them succeed internationally.

Since 2012, ZENIT GmbH has provided public procurers from NRW with intensive support in applying for EU funding for innovative procurement projects.

At the beginning of 2017, ZENIT Germany was widely designated as the EU contact point for public procurement of innovations. In KOINNO, we continue our successful information and advisory services for innovative public procurers.
